Casino de Carballo and Rede polo Decrecemento en Carballo are pleased to announce the XV Iberian Meeting of Social and Complementary Currencies, which this year will be held in Carballo (A Coruña) on October 10th and 11th. The Pilar holiday on Monday the 12th, a public holiday throughout Spain, allowing for a leisurely return home, may encourage attendance from this geographical area. Having become an Iberian event since Lisbon 2025, the first Meeting of Social and Complementary Currencies was held in 2012 in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona), with 16 currencies represented. It was agreed there to hold an annual meeting, which has since taken place in different locations across the Iberian Peninsula. Organized by local groups, each edition is unique, reflecting the specific circumstances of the region, the local social currency, and the current social context. 

This diversity is one of the strengths of the Meeting, as it allows participants to learn about very different experiences and share lessons learned across projects. The profile of the attendees, while diverse, can be divided into two main groups. On the one hand, there are people involved in social activism and social economy projects and complementary currencies, many of whom are directly involved in the creation and management of these initiatives. On the other hand, there are also participants from academia and research, interested in studying and analyzing these experiences. In addition, a group of regular participants have met at many previous editions, creating a well-established network of relationships and collaborations. 

One of the main values ​​of these sessions is precisely the direct exchange of real-world experiences: learning about projects that are working in different regions, sharing challenges and solutions, and fostering new collaborations among individuals and groups working in the field of social and complementary currencies. We are providing interested parties with a registration form to help plan logistics in advance, including knowing how many will attend, how many will stay for lunch at the venue, dietary needs, etc. We are also providing a document for exchanging accommodation and transportation between individuals, as well as another form to register for the Ecosocial Market at the 15th Iberian Meeting of Social Coins, organized by the RIAS project members for Saturday afternoon.
